I am adding a msg instruction to do a SLC type read to a
SLC 5/05 from a control logix both sitting on our network. there are several msg commands in the controllogix all ready and functioning.
when I have added a msg command previously and now
the conditional bits preceding the msg command don't toggle.
(DN ER EN) what am I not doing correct.

Make sure there is a condition on the rung that makes the message read.

I always use a timer that reads or writes the message every xx seconds.

If you have the message on an unconditional rung the MSG instruction will not work.
