Hi People,

I am new to FTView SE and and want to use AdobeReader ActiveX. I have placed ActiveX on my screen and assigned string tag which has initial value C:/Program Files... as pdf file location.

But still it does not open the required file in FT Client SE when testing.

Any ideas how to configure Adobe ActiveX in FactoryTalk SE?

I never used that activex. Said that, from this webpage:

http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/318268.html

The Acrobat Control is designed specifically for use with Internet Explorer; it is not a full-featured ActiveX Control that you can use to enable applications other than Internet Explorer to display PDF files. If you modify the Acrobat Control for ActiveX or use it in applications other than Internet Explorer, Adobe Technical Support is unable to support it.

EDIT:

You can launch an external application using AppStart command from a button.

I always embed the MicrosoftWebBrowser Activex control to display PDFs while still in SE.

After that just call the ".Navigate" method in the VBA to the filepath required.

Hi mmPLCPrg,

Thanks for your help.

Just another question - I also want to prevent operator to get out of the operator display to desktop. but with webbrowser/pdf you can break the security and access desktop. Any ideas how to stop?

Also how can I disable/remove all those toolbars?
