Getting Force Feedback from Kinetix 350

I have a job where I've been supplied a Kinetix 350 and told that the application will require it to stop at a certain force. Here's the rub, there's a load cell on the machine, but in press-to-force mode, they will have the load cell removed (I'm still scratching my head on that one). So my only option is to use amperage feedback from the drive and convert it to force units. So.....how exactly do I do that? I've tried Googling and have found nothing.

You will have to monitor torque feedback. I can't imagine it will be all that accurate, repeatable maybe.

Apply a known torque to the motor and monitor your torque feedback. Do this for a min value and a max value then you can calculate a slope.

Is there a programmable torque level in AB's motion programming?

That's the confusing thing. I don't see any kind of torque feedback from the motor. It looks like it can do torque control, but I see no .TorqueFeedback element in the data type.

I don't have any manuals in front of me but I believe when you set up your axis, torque feedback should be part of your axis properties. It should look something like axis.torquefeedback. Trying searching around for it in your tag database, then you can trend it.

I've searched for it but it doesn't exist. I think this is because it's a Kinetix 350 and not a 5500 or above.
