Newbie Needs help

Have a 1500 thats used on a Italian Roller Coaster.

Uses a couple of AIC's and a 500 Plc

Also a Panelview 550

Everytime we go thru the start up procedure we get an error 613

When we get passed that, it try's to pull in the Start contactors but they wont stay in and make a noise like there is a "short". All wires check out.

Couple questions.
1. I bought a new factory sealed one off of Ebay. Had it programmed at the factory.
Can i use the old chasis with the new front part that hold the battery?

2. How hard and expensive is it to change over to the new SLC 1400?

I am a little unsure what you have. Is it a Micrologix 1500 and a SLC 500? Please give us more specific controller descriptions. Part numbers would be ideal. The 1500 has a CPU module and an I/O base. I think that is what you are describing in question 1. The I/O base is usually where problems develop. The CPU module is pretty solid.

Switching to a Micrologix 1400 would be pretty easy if you have a little experience with RSLogix 500 (programming software for the SLC and Micrologix PLCs), but it is going to depend on how much I/O and what type to recommend a way forward.
