Hello all, I am trying to restore a FTView V5.0 application from a runtime (.mer) to a developer application
(.apa), but the runtime was created to not allow conversion. Is there any way to do the conversion even if the file has been locked?

I believe the Restore from Runtime feature wasn't added for 64-bit systems until 6.1.

If the runtime file was specifically created without the ability to perform a "restore", it was probably done on purpose by the author.

The introduction of the Project Restore from Runtime feature in FactoryTalk View version 5.0 also removed the ability to use the v4.0 and earlier methods of running the project then copying the *.GFX files.

This explained in a concise way in RA Knowledgebase Article 8913 (TechConnect Required)
