Hello,

Can I connect an S7-200 PLC to a PC running WinCC flex Runtime?
As I know WinCC flex RT comes bundled with the Softnet LEAN license.
So, the easiest and fast solution should be: S7-200 with Ethernet module - CP243-1 connected to the PC's NIC (Lan card), through Ethernet.
Is this idea OK?

Regards

Hi Gromit.

Yes. You can use WinCC Flex RT with S7-200 and Softnet S7 Lean via a regular PC NIC.
WinCC Flex also supports PPI, MPI and DP for accessing S7-200.

Does the Softnet S7 Lean license comes for free with the WinCC flex RT 128 tags license?

Do I need any Softnet licenses for connecting the WinCC flex RT (CP 5611 A2) to the S7-200/300 through MPI?
Are, they free too?

Thanks in regards.

You can connect via PPI, MPI or DP via the direct drivers - set via the Set PG/PC Interface utility.
You do not need Softnet PB S7 for this and it is not included in the RT license.
The only major drawback is that you cannot setup an additional OPC connection.
