Hey guys,

I need to do a 0-10vdc to 4-20ma conversion using an allen-bradley NI4 analog card can anyone help I have to give an analog output to a toshiba inverter

I dont quite understand, you will also need an Output card to give the 0-10 to the toshiba ?

Do you want to take a 4-20 into the PLC and then drive 0-10 from the PLC to the toshiba ?

kphilman,
Tell us the which SLC500 you have, SLC5/01,SLC5/02,SLC5/03,SLC5/04,SLC5/05?
Also cat. no. of analog input card and output card. (The whole no.)
The more info the better.

Ok well lets presume you have an NO4V card as well as the NI4 card

My example is for a 5/03 OS302 processor (or above) using the SCP command, if your processor is below this (ie 5/02 or 5/01) then this will not work as i have used the SCP instruction.

The manual for the NI4 and NO4V can be found here

The DIP switches will need setting up see the manual.

The NI4 on 4-20mA input gives 3277 - 16384

while the NO4V needs 0 - 32764 to give 0-10V output.

Slot 0 - 5/03 OS302
Slot 1 - NI4 Input Card Channel 0 configured for 4-20mA
Slot 2 - NO4V Output Card

You will only need rung 0002 but i have also included range error flags.
