Transformer too big?

if one side of the transformer, say L1 and L2 measures 8 ohms, or X1 and X4 with X2 & X3 tied together measures 8 ohms, you have a transformer problem. transformers are nothing more than coils of inductive coated wire. the primary side (from memory) should be around 0.69 ohms and the secondary side is slightly different, 0.82 comes to mind. I had transformers back in 1982 and i'm not as well versed on them anymore.
