Vehicle Presence Sensor

I agree - inductive loops are the best way. We've tried ultrasonic, but they're just not reliable enough. Too easy for signals to get deflected and too difficult to arrange for effective detection of every vehicle type.

Not to mention old mate standing in front of the Ultrasonic does not constitute a truck in your loading bay =P

Bob use ground loops. You use them every day when you are at a stop light. I did a couple for personnel detection in a work zone. They will pickup the steel shank or a steel toe in a work boot

The loop might be tough\harder to install assuming you need a complete loop and depending on the size the loop needs to be for the object.
I will look into both the Radar and loop and see if anything comes of it with the customer.

Thanks,
Bob O
