What are the cause that make controlnet card fail?

I added new controlnet's rack Remote IO to the existing system and It already work well then about 10days later. There was one controlnet's rack fail(the one in the existing system) and that rack couldn't control or monitor with RSlogix software. I tried to turn power off and turn power on again then It work. What are the cause that make controlnet card fail?

More than 95% of the time, a failure on ControlNet is poor cable installation. Check that first. Do NOT use budget BNC connectors or cable, and make sure you have the proper terminations at each end of the coax link.

If actually the communications card did fail, well, things fail. Even there, it is usually that the BNC connector on the card was damaged from someone yanking on the cable, or dropping the card.

Swap in another card, see if that works, if all your cabling is good.

If an electronic component is going to fail, it will usually do so within the first few days of constant use.
