How ac motor drive mechanical loss are calculated

I work in rolling mill. Many ac motor drives are using in the mill. I have seen for ac motor current reference calculation mechanical losses are included. Could anyone please tell me how this mechanical loss normally calculated ?

Really appreciable if any one please explain me.
