PV600 comm problem

I am trying to program a stubborn PV600 and having comm problems. Once source says I need a 2711-NC13 cable with just 2-2,3-3, and 5-5. Another source says the 2711-NC13 is all straight through except 9! Which is it?

Pin 9 is not used (no connection). Here is a pin-out of the cable.

But all you need is

Pin 2 to 2
Pin 3 to 3
Pin 5 to 5
