tp170b and omron

does anyone have any experience with a tp170b panel from siemens connected to an omron CQM1 plc? What should i pay attention for to get communication? Do I have to program something in the Omron plc to make the data available for the TP170?

Hello Ungaro,

here is a sample for the TP27 (I cannot fin a sample for TP170).
I believe that the two files other than the .pdb file are Omron code samples.

Thank you Jesper, I will take a close look at this soon because I have ProtoolLite installed. The sample you sent me recuires Protool or ProtoolPro. I will install a demoversion to try.

I have converted the TP27 project to a TP170B project.
This you should be able to open in Protool Lite.

Notice: The conversion may only be 99% succesful. You may have to doublecheck everything.

I don't think Protool LITE supports all of the drivers.

Thanks Jesper,this is very helpfull, I can open this one. I expect the TP will be deliverded this week so I can start trying. Do you know something about the Omron PLC? Do I have to program some kind of data send/recieve block?

Normally other than Omron brand screens communicate with Omron PLCs by way of host link protocol. You would have to make sure the serial port is set up as host link at the baud rate you require.

The Siemens screen would also require Omron host link protocol loaded into it. It should then be able to be set up to read/write the appropriate words/bits in the PLC.

No, I could only find the sample programs with Omron.

I expect the two files quick.swp and quick.swb (in the first zip file) to be Omron PLC code samples. Can you load these into the Omron programming environment ?

I expect the two files quick.swp and quick.swb (in the first zip file) to be Omron PLC code samples.

*.swp are Omron Syswin program files. *.swb are backup files for Syswin.
