Hi, I was wondering has anybody configured an Allen Bradley. Model: 1746-NO4I analog output module. Usually these larger models (ex. NO8I) that I use can be configured automatically in the I/O Configuration in Logic500. Or when doing it manually by writing to the O:e:xx Configuration Channel of the card but for some reason this card doesn't seem to have the facility.

It just offers the 4 channel Output. Appreciate any help or could some point me towards this manual on the net. Again Thanks - Rpax

this one doesn't need configuring ... in fact it can't be configured ... basically you just put the right data values in the right address locations and it's ready to go ...

slot 8 (just for example):
channel 0 = O:8.0
channel 1 = O:8.1
channel 2 = O:8.2
channel 3 = O:8.3

another helpful hint:
4.00 mA = 6242
20.00 mA = 31208

that and all the rest should be in the manual that Mickey linked for you ...

Thanks for the link and replies. For a matter of interest should the LED be Green the minuit you plug in the module. I just seem to be getting a Red LED which I thought was not configured. Eitherway I flix through the manual. Thanks again

the way I read this is you are plugging the module in, with
power on. If this is so DON'T do this, you should not hot swap these modules.

Hi, just to let you know that Ron was spot on. The module is a plug and play type with no configuration. The Red Light on the front is only to show that Power is applied to the Module. The only thing that needs to be changed is the position of the Dip switch to indicate whether the Power is supplied from the backplate or External. Again thanks for the help on this.
