Configuring redundant ethernet cards

Are you talking about ControlLogix Ethernet modules in a ControlLogix redundancy system ?

The MAC IDs do not change. The redundancy modules and Ethernet modules coordinate the change in IP addresses.

There are revision-specific release notes and application notes about how to configure and troubleshoot the Ethernet switches and networks used with ControlLogix redundancy.

When configuring redundant ethernet cards, will the mac address change along with the IP address. A friend is having problems with IP security configuration.
You can Team and pair of netwrok cards on a PC to give a redundant pair and I think the team gets its own MAC address...

ControlLogix doesn't use "teamed" 1756-EN2/3/4T network bridge modules the same way that some Windows and Unix computers do.

If you're using teamed adapters on your SCADA computers, you *still* need to read and understand the Redundant ControlLogix user manuals and application guides.

Troubleshooting "for a friend" without details on a complex topic is only likely to succeed through guesses or coincidence.
