Help in upgrade of Micrologix 1500

Dear All,

Need your inputs as how am i going to upgrade my present system. I want to add two(2) to three(3) 1769-OW16 Output Relay modules.

My present system consist of the following:

Slot # Part # DEscription
0 Bul. 1764 Micrologix 1500 LRP Series C
1 1769-OW16 16-Output Relay
2 1769-IR6 6 Channel RTD Module
3 1769-IR6 6 Channel RTD Module
4 1769-IR6 6 Channel RTD Module
5 1769-IA16 16-Input 79/132 VAC
6 1769-IA16 16-Input 79/132 VAC
7 1769-OW16 16-Output Relay

One thing more, my power supply loading says it's overloaded.

What shall i do? Help please.

add an expansion I/O bank with a power supply

Below are some data for my processor.

OS Catalog No. S:57 = 1510
OS Series S:58 = C
OS FRN S:59 = 9.0
Processor Cat. No. S:60 = 1764-LRP
Processor Series S:61 = A
Processor FRN S:62 = 2.0

Please advise if what are the things to be change in order for me to add an expansion powersupply and maybe three(3) output relars.

Thanks for the info. Which among the power supply listed (1769-PA2, 1769-PA4, 1769-PB2, and 1769-PB4) would you recommend for my purpose? I will add three(3) 1769-OW16 relay output modules. How will i verify the VERSION of my programming sofware?

Rslogix version, select Help --> About Rslogix 500





Power supplies, either the 1769-PA2 or PA4 will do
I usually use the PA4

Alomost everything are checked and i think im on the right track now except for the minimum length of cable i need. Due to the limited space in the control panel, my expansion bank needs to be installed a bit far from the existing bank. I measure it and i will need at least 6 feet of cable.

Advise please.

The documentation clearly states, the choices for cables are 1 foot or 1 meter, those are your two choices. If you want this to work, then you need to figure out how to position the expansion rack within 1 meter.

Only other option is a Devicenet scanner added to your main rack and compact I/O blocks on devicenet for the expansions
