Comminication to SLC500/04

Hi all. I have recently started work for a new customer who is running a SLC500/04 processor on a DH484 network. The connection to the processor is via a 1761-net-AIC converter, using the 9 pin portto the RS232 port on the processor. I need to access the PLC's on the network for breakdown maintenance puposes. My question is can i connect to the network via the mini din port on the 1761-net-AIC converter using a 1747-UIC? Or can i connect via a 1761-pm02 cable to this port? Hope this is enough information for you's to be able to help me out.

You can connect to the Mini-DIN port on the 1761-NET-AIC using the 1747-UIC and a 1761-CBL-PM02 cable.

You will use the DF1 Full Duplex driver in RSLinx as described in the 1747-UIC instructions.

You can also connect from a built-in RS232 serial port on your computer, using the 1747-PIC/AIC+ driver. This driver is more complicated to use.

Both of these methods are for connecting to the DH-485 network using the Mini-DIN port on the 1761-NET-AIC only.

As noted, the Mini-DIN port on the SLC-5/04 controller itself is a Data Highway Plus (DH+) port, not a Data Highway-485 (DH-485) port. It requires a specific DH+ interface card.
