i have a 1747-uic when you start driver as a rs232 df1 what do you do with the driver on the program ie-the AB_PIC-1 what do you change that to or do you leave it?

I think you are choosing the wrong driver.. after installing the drivers you should have "DH485 UIC devices"

You should only be using the DH485 UIC Devices driver, not the DF1 or PIC. Personally, I would remove the other drivers (DF1 and PIC)

lol no worries... was bored on the road and hitting the refresh button.

good to get confirmation on my thoughts anyways.

If you are running Windows 7 64 bit you will have to use DF1 driver for a UIC

When you load RSLinx on the PC and if its a 64 bit machine RSLinx will not install all the drivers, only the one that are compatible with a 64 bit system

See attached screen shot for using DF1 driver and the UIC, this can be used for all systems if needed as RSlinx 6.3 and earlier did not have 'UIC devices' driver

thanks, got myself a windows 7 laptop and a uic adapter and alls ok now.
spot on with the pic driver being missing.the instructions with the uic driver tells you to use the rs232 df1 driver.also there is a uic driver which i used and seemed ok.
