Hi there!

We have a system for a water waste treatment here that work with a micrologix 1400 and a panelview 600 plus.

we keep the data logging using USB but we would like to put them in the server of the company directly in a folder somewhere. But so far we failed to configure it.

We use the Datastore plus in the HMI to make the data logging and not the one that default in View station.

the USB that is working right now look like this:
\USB Storage\Logs\LogEauxUsee.CSV

the path that we tried to make it save on the server was this one:
\\192.168.X.XX\eauxusees\Logs\LogEauxUsee.CSV

Thanks !

Check out the above link:

"If you want the CSV files to be stored in the default FTP location, open the control panel on the PVPlus 6 and edit the FTP server to find/change which folder it’s serving up.

If you want the CSV files stored in a network share, first browse to the network share on your PC, and then use the same path for the CSV “file location” (like \\MyPC\MySharedFolder)
"

Is your PV+ a "PanelView Plus 6" with version 6, 6.10, 7, or 8 firmware ?

The version 5.10 and earlier DataStore ActiveX did not support using a networked drive at all. I think you could make it work once, but if the networked drive ever got disconnected the ActiveX would not reconnect until a power cycle.

My reading of the Knowledgebase document 520349 [Direct Link, Access Level Everyone](https://rockwellautomation.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/520349) suggests that you need to configure the PV+ to attach to the Windows Domain in order to use a mapped drive, rather than just specifying an IP address directly.

Could it be possible that it not working because its a IP and not a classical file location? like C:\data\logs.... ?
on the link gcl just added some other guy seem to have error when adding IP rather than exact file location...
if it's the case how could i solve that problem ?

For the firmware i would have to check

ohh ok i get it, thats the part i was missing, i didnt know we had to config the network first

thanks for the support!

im going to give it a try
