Hi friends, can anyone please explain to me what is the difference in setting up the Point I/O as Rack Optimized or Direct Connection. From what I understand in the manual those two only differ by use of RPI, but I wanted to know if there is anything else that I might be missing.
Thank You

Rack Optimized grabs all the discrete module data for the whole FLEX adapter in one packet.

Individual Module connections grab only one module at a time.

Use Module connections for Diagnostic discrete modules, for Specialty modules, and for Analog modules.

The only time I've used a Module connection to an ordinary discrete module is when I had one relatively fast DC module in a rack with a bunch of slow AC modules. The one module got a fast 5 ms RPI and the rest poked along at 50 ms in the Rack Optimized connection.
