1761-AIC to SLC 5/05

Presently have two old orange screen 1000 PV connected together with 1761-AIC's then to a third AIC in cabinet beside the SLC 5/05, now the panelviews haven't worked in awhile from what I understand and I see why. The AIC beside the SLC has the standard 1747-C11 cable hanging down not connected to anything, can I get the PV's back to communicating with the SLC using what I have with another cable to connect to the Channel 0 serial port and change it to DH485 or should I purchase a 1747-NET-AIC and use Channel 0 as a 232 connection.

Tell us the complete catalog number of your PV's.

Channel 0 is RS232 and can be configured for DH485.

Do you mean a 1747-AIC Link Coupler? If so it does not connect to a RS232 port.

Use your 1761-NET-AIC+ and configure the port for DH485.

I'm not sure what the "X" is for, but the "3" part means it's DH485.

Yes Mickey that is the 1747-AIC link couplers sorry for the wrong number, so I should go ahead and get the AIC+ and use the CP3 cable and configure for DH485 on CH 0.

I think that is your only option. Short of upgrading the PV's to Ethernet.

I'm guessing that SLC5/05 is a upgrade from a SLC5/03, 02 or 01.

You're welcome. Your 1747-AIC Link Couplers can still be used by the PVs.
