Another 1746-hsce2 card ?

I have a 1746-hsce2 card located in slot 3 slc rack. The plc is a 5/05.

I am needing to read redlion 120 ppr quad encoder The roller it is hooked to is 4.5 inch in diameter which is .11775 inches per pulse or .0098125 ft per pulse. I am needing the encoder to measure ft. I have it wired like this

ENCODER-------HSCE2
red + 24-- vdc+
white A-- a1+
green b-- b1+
black com-- vdc com (also hooked to a1- and b1-)

What is the best setup for the card using this encoder. I am trying to make head or tails of the manual and all i am getting is frustrated. I am not at work so i can't try anything out to see what work and don't.

Any references to manuals or programs would be greatly appreciated.

you need to make sure wiring is correct and card is initialized correctly. maybe this can help
