Just for talking about it you can get black listed.

Brown Foreman (whiskey distillery) has an AB only rule. Several distilleries around the world have AB as a standard.

Has anyone use A D in explosive areas? What arw they rated at? Do they have XP rated I/O?

On a side note my wife and I both bought new trucks a few years back at the same time, yes two at once, both were GMCs and she asked the salesman if he could put a chevy bowtie on her's because she pefered them over GMCs

I sell mostly AB products. than AD is second. I once chose an AD PLC over a AB PLC just because it can print to a dot matrix printer just by a print command and inserting "text,#,variable" they can do it with a key or without. again I think both products are great and would use either.

The problem that I have with A-D is that they are single source and their tech support is VERY limited

just the opposite view here. I once needed a feature in a c-more micro and contacted AD about it. the next day in my in-box was a firmware update!!!! no charge no hassle. the only downside I can see is they don't offer it 24/7

I have used AD products since they were GE Series One. Haven't run across an application between the two companies I've worked for that couldn't be controlled with something AD offers.

Look at the pricing difference in their software packages. Usurious.

I have no issues with AB, these were the first PLC's I learned on and we still have 95% of the plant with AB's. I use AD due to the cost, I can get quick approval for local projects and they don't kill my budget.
