Hi,

I want to know if and how i can bring up my DH485 network to a ethernet/ip.
My network is setting with 1747-aic and 1761-net-aic.
So i do some research and i found the 1747-dps2. Is said it has dh485 protocol to df1 protocol for 1761-net-eni but i found any exemple how and where a plug the 1761-net-eni. All exemples I saw was the eni plug in the network port of the dps2.
Resuming it is possible to plug 1747-dps2 to network port DH485 6-pin and the 1767-net-eni to prog/hmi port and when I use Ethernet/ip protocol in Rslinx i will saw all my slc 5/01, 5/03 and 5/04 who is connected on the DH485 network
thank you

Not sure what your budget is but.... you could build one of these (or buy it)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/370530424265

They work really good, not sure about your 5/04 because unless you configured the serial port to DH485 then the other two ports are DH+, the 5/01 and 5/03 you will be good but the nice thing about this is you can just plug it into your network and your whole network will be Ethernet

What are you going to do with it once its on the Ethernet network?

the compagnay will get wi-fi in all building, so no more cable for program modification or troubleshooting and some automate i will need to for get information about some counter.

my budget is very low have already a lot of 1747-aic and 1761-net-aic and some 1761-net-eni i just need something to do the communication between the 1761-net-aic (DH485 network) and the 1761-net-eni.

the 1761-net-eni is just Ethernet to DF1 and wont really help you. That device is used to connect a SLC, Micrologix, or Compactlogix that doesn't have ethernet available to an ethernet network.

One possible way is to do like geniusintraining said and use a Contrologix rack, an ethernet card like the 1756-ENBT or 1756-EN2T, and a 1756-DH485 card. This way you can go through the backplane from one communcation gateway to the other.

There may be cheaper devices available that are specifically designed for use as a ethernet to DH485 gateway, you'll just have to talk to your local automation distributor and see what the have to offer you.
