Hi,

i am trying to create an DH485 netwrok which will consist of 2 ML1500 using ACi units for data acquisition back to a pc. i understand how the PLCS join using the AIC , My question is how is the cabling done to connect to the PC and what protocol is used? also how are the node addresses applied?

Thanks in advance

ok thank you, so from the final node i use RS232 cable and DF1 protocol back to the pc?

The protocol of your ML1500's are set to DH485 you will need to use a DH485 driver (1747-PIC/AIC Driver) in RSLinx. The AIC's are not a protocol converter, just a interface converter.
Does your PC have a real serial port (9 pin port) if not then the 1747-PIC/AIC driver will not work. You will need a 1747-UIC (USB to serial converter)
it is a interface and protocol converter. You can then use the DF1 driver.
