HMI OMRON NS5 - Control/Notify Area

Hi everyone !
Maybe someone with users working with HMI OMRON NS5 series or guys with more experience will solve my question.For NT31C I set in PT Configuration Control/Notify Area, but in Cx-Designer I can`t found any similar options which will be set this parameters. I suppose, in case when I set memory address area in the PLC that will be shared between the NS and PLC and Control/Notify Area is unnecessary.It`s true ?

Here are my notes regarding your subject.

NS – Control / Notify

The equivalent of the NT PT Control and PT Notify areas can be in the NS internal memory (default) or in the PLC memory.

To change to PLC memory:

Set up in NS Designer: Settings/System Settings/Initial/System Memory
$SB uses 64 bits (4 words must be contiguous)
$SW uses 41 words (must be contiguous)

Function of System Memory Bits and Words is defined in the Programming Manual #V073-E1-06 – Section 2-4.

Note: First word in $SW ($SW0) is the current screen register. It displays the current screen number and will cause the screen to change if a valid screen number is entered (similar to first word of PT control in NT screens).

Note: Screen 0 is a valid screen number. Screen number must be in BCD.


Starting with System Version 7.0 a NT compatibility mode has been added.
Refer to manual V073 – Section 2-4-3.
