Kinetix 5700 drives - parameter changes

Hi
When using Studio 5000 & Kinetix 5700 drives would it be possible to change drive setup from the PLC code.
the senario is that i have a servo on a generic baseplate, i need to have the option to control 2 different modules from this generic baseplate depending on which one is fitted.
one module requires a linear morion and the other a rotary motion.
hopefully the drive and servo can remain constant and i can just overwrite parameters, anyone know if this is plausable?
