I have a machine with 6 Kinetix 5700 Drives powering MPM motors attached to Box Ways with ball screws. My problem seems to be a high holding current after reaching position... It seems like I'm fighting something mechanical, but I have this issue on all axis to some degree and I'm wondering if I have tuning issues.

Here's an example:
Feed in 100mm from 0.
I can watch the output current and it moves to maybe 10amps to move. When the move is complete I stay around 8amps. If I disable the axis I can visibly see the ball screw shaft turn the motor, and watch my actual position of the encoder move. Probably around .2mm.
If instead of disabling the axis move back from 100mm to 99.9mm, I can see a drop in current. I can do this small step a time or two and get to zero amps.

I guess my question is if this is normal? Anybody have any ideas?
