DCP – Discovery and Configuration Protocol packets are well documented, except one field "Xid". This is a 32 bit value, it looks like it has structure 0fxx_yyyy, where xx increments for each new DCP function request, and yyyy increments with each sent packet of the same function.

Any ideas?

Tim, hi. I do not have the DCP specification. I work a lot in PROFINET IO development. By looking at a Wireshark trace of the DCP test cases, at least in the case of the RTA (Real-time Automated) tester suite, one can see that the DCP Client (which is the Windows RTA application), whenever it initiates a round of DCP requests, it increments the Xid by one, and all the devices that reply to the DCP request, will echo back the the Xid value that was send by the client. Sorry for not being able to provide more information.
