Machine Edition v4.0 Keygen

Happeeman, you imply that once you've purchased the software, you still have to spend more money. In fact the only additional 'expenditure' is that you have to spend a few minutes of your time on the authorization process. You have to spend time reading the manual in order to properly use the software. Do you object to that 'additional expenditure'?

I've said this before. If you're philosophically opposed to paying for software, then patronize the companies that give it away.

BTW, there would be nothing illegal about you sending me the serial number and site code. The corresponding authorization code would only work on your computer. If I were to use the same serial number to generate a site code for my computer, when I called it in to get an authorization code, GE Fanuc would say "sorry, that serial number is already registered to Happeeman". If I decided to authorize it on my computer first, when I went for an authorization code for you, they'd say "sorry, that serial number is already registered to Steve Bailey".

At any rate, it looks like we'll just have to agree to disagree. You're entitled to your righteous indignation over GE Fanuc's policies. To keep your blood pressure under control, I'd suggest you use some other brand of software in the future. I'm entitled to my opinion that the real reason you started this thread was to try to find a way to make unauthorized copies of the software.

It could be reasonably argued by the vendor that authorising the product is part of the purchase procedure and that the time it takes to activate the product it factored in to the purchase price.

You seem to have far too much time on your hand if you choose to spend it baiting ushere on this forum. While it is an amusing exchange to read it is really a complete waste of everyones time. If you choose not to follow the procedure set out by the vendor don't waste our time by telling us about it.

I think this thread should be passed on to all vendors of PLC software (with names removed of course) to show that the sentiment of user pays is still alive and well.

Thanks everyone for their input as I have convinced the owners to tear out that Fanuc junk anyway. AB it is!

Thanks

Just a thought about all the self-righteous indignation floating around.

Who does actually 'own' the software that Happeeman claims to have bought? As far as I can see, what he has purchased is not the software itself, but simply a licence (i.e. permission) to use it. This is standard with all s/w vendors from The Great God Bill all the way down. The vendor can choose to apply whatever conditions he likes to his product.

Acquiring software is not like acquiring a loaf of bread. In the latter case I believe you are the rightful owner of the loaf and can then do with it as you will: cut it, toast it, share it with friends. But then it comes to an end. The loaf is finite. The big difference that software companies recognised years ago is that each user has the technology to make as many copies of the software as they want. This is not the same with loaves, cars, shirts etc. As yet, there is no box in the corner of my kitchen where I can just insert a loaf, press the 'Copy' button and get two loaves out. If there were, don't you think all the bakers would suddenly be just as defensive as we accuse the s/w vendors of being?

Software is a unique commodity in this repect. If Happeeman dislikes the product so much ("...incomplete...", "...sub standard and requiring further expendatures ...") why does he stick with it? I wouldn't choke down a loaf where I didn't like the texture, taste or baking process.

As I said, just a thought ...

regards

Ken M

happeeman,

Too bad now you have to throw out "something that is bought and paid for".
By the way, you newer did comment on the fact that the product is perfectly usable for a limited time, even without registering. It kind of obliverates the reasoning behind your ranting.

How do you know GE Fanuc is junk, when you havent tried it ?

Tell that to my daughter who recently jammed a penutbutter & jelly sandwich onto the VCR.....

By they way; Why do you think they call it a "software license agreement" ?
