Modbus Simulation Software

What is the best Modbus simulation software to purchase? I have found several on the internet and I need to be able to work with all flavors of modbus serial and Ethernet.

Anything that sets a specific software apart from another? Most seem to be sub $1000.00 so price is really not a consideration.

Cant you just use a SCADA/HMI software and roll your own? If I were doing it I think I would try just downloading a demo version and use that, 1k seams like a lot

Or I just have no idea what you are doing and that maybe the case but this maybe something to consider

I used modrssim extensively in the past, it works nicely
