I've decided to give the Micro800/CCW world a go, so would appreciate a steer towards a few background articles (not starter).
I have a lot of programming experience in Logix500, a little in 5000. I have a nice small non critical project to complete and decided to use a Micro830 to help keep the budget down.
To give a little background. The project is an indexing conveyor which has 8 different indexing setups selectable using an 8 position BCD SW. The conveyor shaft is fitted with an encoder connected to a HSC module, scaled to conveyor movement in mm/rev. Each of the 8 indexing setups has between 3 and 8 stopping positions where a secondary process is carried out during the conveyor stop time. The secondary process is initiated from this PLC but not controlled by it.
So far I have the encoder block and scaler working but need to get the AH-HA moment with how to approach simple things {Logix500_Simplicity} like allocating 4 inputs to a BCD to DEC converter, local V global variables, just good clear in depth fodder. ;-)
Many thanks in advance
