he and i are working on this together and we can't connect through the pirf port what might be the problem

Does your cable match what is in the manual? Did you try to change DIP switch #4?

well i used what omron said to use CS1W-226 I think it is the number and what does dip 4 do

With switch 4 off, it can detect the comm settings automatically.
In CX Programmer, you should be able to do an Auto Online
