Good morning guys,
I have a 315 cpu which is running but with a fault which im not sure what to do about. Im after some input please.

When i go into hardware diagnostics its telling me that it has no communication with node 5. There is no node 5. There may have been once and been removed but there isn't one now.

If i go into the hardware configuration there are several other nodes shown. The strange thing is that this machine (a plastic labeller for pet bottles) is actually still running so its only an issue in as much as i would like to know how to loose the warning lights.

Any ideas please

Kev

Hi,

First of all what "fault" you are facing? what is the Node address, which you want to diagnosise?
If you want to see all the connected nodes in on line, you can monitor through, Step7--> Select the Project --> Go to PLC --> Select "Display Accessible Nodes". It will be display whatever connected node with address.

Regards,
Appa

Hi Kev,

Is this the same machine you were referring to in this thread by any chance?

Try this, it's a bit of a long shot but you never know:

- Open HW Config
- Press 'CTRL-ALT-F11'
- Save & compile
- Download to PLC

This should force a rebuild of your address container and delete any non-registered addresses.

Sorted!

Thanks Kev. A really quick fix was just what i was after.

No more flashing red lights means happy boss! (even if he did create the problem in the first place as it happens!)

It wasn't the same machine i was asking about in an earlier thread. That turned out to be a mixture of rubbish profibus cable and slowly failing i/o slave module.

Thanks again

Kev
