Changing S5 945 CPU

Hi, I have a Siemens 945 CPU that I need to change, I did get a new CPU 945, put it on the rack, insert the flash memory from my previous CPU, do I need to do something special for the CPU to load and execute the program from the flash memory cards? Thank you

I think you have to reset the CPU, then it will read from the flash... again I think so if you cant afford to loose any information that is stored wait for someone else to say this is correct

If you are just testing this CPU and rack then try this

If you have 2 switches, 2 position run/stop and 3 position NR/RE/OR

For a normal reset put the switch in the nr position take the other switch and put in from run to stop to run, this will reset the CPU

If you hold the switch in the OR position and move the other switch from the run/stop/run this will clear the CPU memory....

*** you can and will loose your program *** make sure you have a current copy of your program you will need to reload it
