DB-9 serial port testing on ML-1400

hello friends

i have an old ML-1400 which i purchased from a ship owner which was used in that ship

now i wanted to test the serial port(DB-9) of this PLC

as far as normal serial port which are on PC i know that shorting pin 2&3 and i will get same responce back on my PC hyperterminal which i was typing
but how to check PLC db-9 COM PORT i dont know

can anybody tell me how to check it??

Have you tried to communicate with it using RSLinx?

A null-modem cable.

just tried it with with null modem cable and it worked
it means my commport is o.k
