Hi,

I have been playing about with a Got and managed to program various functions and buttons however I’ve not been able to trigger a screen.

I’d like to trigger a flashing red screen with “Emergency stop” written on it using a input. I have tried playing about with the screen trigger action but can’t get it to do anything. It need to flag this up regardless of what screen it’s on.

Is anyone able to explain this to me? I’d this possible with this HMI?

Thanks

Go to the "Screen Switching/Window" in the "GOT Settings" (System Tab), and set your Screen Switching Device for the Overlap Window to your PLC Device. Set the value in the PLC to be the screen number of your Window Screen (not base screen) that you create.

An alternative is to create a pop up i.e. box, Text Box where the visibility is enabled by the alarm bit (copy to all screens). To be honest I hate pop up things that cover most of the screen, If I need to display an alarm or Message I set an area on the screen (tends to be top or bottom) that will display the message (flashing in red), It is usually large enough to attract attention but not too large to obliterate other information. Another point you could do the logic that if a mute key is pressed, this hides the message for a time to allow operator to look at the underlying screen.
