Does anyone know of a cheapish encoder (under $100).
ppr = 1 (can handle more but don't need more)
single or double - can use single, but would need to have 2 of them to determine direction
Voltage = up to 24V DC
Hollow bore with bore of 9/16 (I can be flexible with this)
waterproof - needs to be able to withstand a washdown and humid enviroment.
The location is not a high traffic area, so plastic would be ok.
Its used to measure the number of turns for a slice positioner on our papermachine. Usual number of turns per visit is in the 20 range so 1 ppr will be adequate.
It will be hooked up to a digital input card on our ControlLogix system (2 channels per encoder so I can determine direction).
Cheers for all the help
