Panelview Plus to SLC 5/04 processor Alarm Setup

What is the proper way to setup an alarm tag so that a SLC 500 controller with a 5/04 processor can be read in a Panelview Plus Terminal. I've used the PV+ with a 5000 Controller and had no problems, but have heard that the 500 and PV+ have issues when it comess to the Alarm setup. Any help would be appreciated.
