Siemens AO card direct replacement?

We've a diff output on a Siemens AO card.

The card is a 6ES7 331-7TF00-0AB0 which has now been replaced by 6ES7 331-7TF01-0AB0.

States "the new modules replace the following modules and are spare part compatible:" does this mean that it's a direct swap without having to do any hardware configuration?

Yes.

The spare part compatible modules will function identically to the older module if the HW config has the old module in it. When you change the HW config to the new module, then any new capabilities of the updated device are activated.
