Slc 500 - Bsn - Rio - Pv

Sorry rPraveenkum! i didnt explained my question well.

I am using MVI46-MCM for modbus communication to DCS. And u went through the manual and sample program but didnt found mapping of PLC data to modbus addresses.

Thanks

Phone Prosofts tech support, they are pretty good. I have set one of these up in the past and I remember it wasn't fun.

Can Anybody guide me in detail or suggest me any manual for communication of PV1250 to SLC5/04 (redundant using BSN). I want to connect two PV1250 to my PLC through DH+. I need it urgently. Thanks & Kind Regards

I have 2 BSN modules already in each rack. And i am alraedy using it for my two remote racks. Please see my detail setup in my early emails. Can you suggest me any other quick and easy solution for my problem. I will be really very much thankful.

Thanks & Regards

I am trying say that

Primary Rack

1746 - P2
1747 - L541
1747 - BSN(for RIO switching)
1747 - BSN(for DH+ for PV switching)
MV146- MCM

Secondary Rack

1746 - P2
1747 - L541
1747 - BSN(for RIO switching)
1747 - BSN(for DH+ for PV switching)
MV146- MCM

But can one BSN handle my two remote chasis

for handle to remote chasis one bsn is enough if the PV has RIO port then it can be also accomtated in same BSN since it is DH+ you should use seperate BSN for switching the node

But the problem is that my I/O Modules are exceeding four logical Racks. So i will be using two BSN for my I/Os as follow:

BSN # 1
First Chassis, 1747-A13
Slot 00 1747-ASB
------------------------------------------------------------
Slot 01 1746-NI8 Logical Rack 00, Size "Full"
Slot 02 1746-NI8
Slot 03 1746-NO8
Slot 04 1746-IB32
------------------------------------------------------------
Slot 05 1746-IB32 Logical Rack 01, Size "Full"
Slot 06 1746-IB32
Slot 07 Spare Slot
Slot 08 1746-OB32
------------------------------------------------------------
Slot 09 1746-OB32 Logical Rack 02, Size "Full"
Slot 10 1746-OB32
Slot 11 1746-OB32
Slot 12 Spare Slot

BSN # 2
Second Chassis, 1747-A13
Slot 00 1747-ASB - Memory consumption
------------------------------------------------------------
Slot 01 1746-NI8 Logical Rack 00, Size "Full"
Slot 02 1746-NI8
Slot 03 Spare Slot
Slot 04 1746-IB32
------------------------------------------------------------
Slot 05 1746-IB32 Logical Rack 01, Size "Full"
Slot 06 1746-IB32
Slot 07 Spare Slot
Slot 08 1746-OB32
------------------------------------------------------------
Slot 09 1746-OB32 Logical Rack 02, Size "Full"
Slot 10 1746-OB32
Slot 11 Spare Slot
Slot 12 Spare Slot

sorry iam seeing only Post #1 only so your configration requires something like this

Primary Rack

1746 - P2
1747 - L541
1747 - BSN(for RIO switching)
1747 - BSN(for RIO switching)
1747 - BSN(for DH+ for PV switching)
MV146- MCM

Secondary Rack

1746 - P2
1747 - L541
1747 - BSN(for RIO switching)
1747 - BSN(for RIO switching)
1747 - BSN(for DH+ for PV switching)
MV146- MCM

I think instead of having third set of BSN. I can communicate directly to the CPU via DH+. I already have two PVs. Both of them are doing the same job. It will be far easier and better than 3rd BSN Set.

If you have a DH485 protocal(Rs232 port) PV then no need for third set of BSn & another PV

One question How far the pv is placed for the PLC?

If it is in the same cabinet then use DH485 protocal(Rs232 port) PV without any additional accessory
If it is not so then you need NEtAIC+

if node switching is not done the the PV will not automaticaly to Primary plc the data entrying will not input to primary plc. this inturn causes data loss

Yes, I have PV with DH485. And it is in the same Panel. In the Dh485, I have to program some blocks inside PLC or I have to Add the DH485 (1784-PKTX, 2711P-RN6)driver in the communication setup.

How about connecting PV over RIO. I think in this case i have to prgram some blocks in the PLC to collect the data from the PV.
