Changing priority from absolute to symbolic (and vice versa)

I have a program that normally uses symbol priority. I wanted to rename some DBs, so I changed to absolute priority, did the renaming, ran a consistency check and recompiled. As I said, I normally work in symbolic mode, so I changed back to symbol priority, but now I can't recompile without going back to absolute mode. (I get lots of errors from symbols pointing to the old DB names.) How do I get Simatic to "save" the new DB names permanently so I can compile symbolically in future?

I have noticed that if I edit another block (not necessarily one of the DBs I changed), save it and recompile the project symbolically, I don't get any errors and everything seems fine. Is this correct?

It is extremely rare that I change the symbolic name of an existing DB, but when I do I find that I have to go in and resave all the affected blocks before switching back to symbolic. Reorganize seems not to be sufficient.
