Hi,

This is the first time I have setup a single ended encoder on a compact logix PLC. I wired in the pull up resistors and can see the A and B pulses flashing on the LED's and showing in the tags for inputstate A1 and B1.

However I can't get anything from the Ctr0CurrentCount it is constantly reading 0 despite the A1 and B1 input states changing from 1 and 0.

Last time I played with a rotary encoder was on a slc500 and didnt have half the tags this one does. What am I missing ??

Thanks.
Tony.

In the past with RSlogix 500 I had used a scale with parameters instruction to scale the number of counts to represent a measurement in mm.

What is the best way of doing that in rslogix 5000 ?
