Changing ratio in MAG instruction while active

Our motion project uses a MAG instruction to gear a motor to a CIP encoder. That works great now. We now want to adjust the gear ratio based on some some sensor data. We created a tag for the ratio and I see it changing in the MAG instruction, but the motor speed isn't changing. Do we need to start a new MAG instruction every time we send it a new ratio? Note that these are tiny changes in ratio.

Thanks!

All motion instructions are one time instructions. Nothing changes until you issue another instruction (or issue the instruction again).

You don't need a separate instruction. After you enable/issue the MAG instruction the first time, you don't need to leave that rung true any more than the first scan. When the ratio changes, enable the rung again for a scan.

Be sure to pay attention to the Clutch and Accel settings in the MAG so you don't try to instantaneously change speeds
