I am trying to install a 1756-HSC/A card with a 24vdc encoder, and I downloaded the sample code from Rockwell. I have connected external 24vdc and common to the AIFMCE4 (1492-ACABLE-XA) and then connected that power to the encoder.

I programmed the generic ethernet card, added the data types and the programming, and I am getting no response on the HSC_IN channels. I have looked at the pulses with an o-scope to verify the signal is transmitting to the card.

I am not sure I understand the programming as to intialization and feedback. I am not getting the ABZ LEDs on the front of the card. I can toggle the Output LEDS, but that is it. Any help is appreciated.

If you can measure the correct voltage and commons at the correct module terminals, then I think you should see lights, but perhaps only if the card is enabled.

zip and post the code if you can, a snapshot of run mode.

What sample code have you used when configuring the high speed counter module?
Using a 1756-HSC module within a RSL5K application is similar to any other type of 1756 hardware; the 1756-HSC module's profile is part of the RSLogix 5000 installation package and the Generic Module configuration should not be substituted to the already available 1756-HSC one.

Starting with page 59, the procedure of adding a high speed counter module to an RSL5K project is in-detail explained.
