CF memory card "prep" in a CompactLogix

Hi all,
I will be installing a brand new CF card into the slot on a CompactLogix L32 processor. This to provide permanent backup memory for the PLC program. Is there anything I need to do with this card beforehand, such as formatting or creating a special folder structure on the card? TIA!

You can format it if you like. But it isn't necessary. Once you save you application to it, it will format.
